KUST Ceramics began as a deep personal connection to clay, form, and history. The foundation of the studio goes back to childhood, when a fascination with archaeology first revealed the power of ceramics as one of the main carriers of culture and memory across centuries. What survived in clay fragments from ancient civilizations became the beginning of a lifelong relationship with the material.
Over time, this fascination grew into artistic practice, and later into a studio built around handmade ceramic art, sculptural form, and creative community. Founded in Kyiv by Viktor and Lola Kushchenko, KUST developed from a personal craft into an artist-led ceramic studio creating handmade ceramic lamps, ceramic sculptures, decorative objects, and one-of-a-kind ceramic art.
From the beginning, KUST was imagined as more than a place of production. It became a space where ceramics could exist as art, education, experimentation, and shared experience. Alongside creating ceramic whale lamps, ceramic figurines, handmade ceramic vases, and sculptural works, the studio also developed workshops and courses that opened the process of clay to others.
Today, KUST Ceramics is known for its ocean-inspired ceramic lamps, artistic collections, and handmade sculptural objects shaped by nature, culture, light, and story. The studio continues to grow at the intersection of contemporary ceramic art, craftsmanship, and meaningful design, while staying rooted in the belief that clay can hold memory, emotion, and human presence.
